Overview of DEMO aim

The aim is to design, develop and demonstrate the impact of applying a small-scale green infrastructure strategy Micro Urban Wetlands (MUW). The strategy aims the give insights into the feasibility of adding decentralised solutions to the existing infrastructure to collect, store, infiltrate and recover urban surface runoff as nature-based solution to prevent damage due to pluvial flooding and drought in the city of Rotterdam.

Insurance value of ecosystems

Impact assessment and analysis of the technical requirements, commercial viability and governance issues of applying small-scale green infrastructure systems, specifically Micro Urban Wetlands, for sustainable urban water management. Field Factors participates in WP6 being responsible for the DEMO in Rotterdam, and provides input for WP7 through the development of innovative business models to deploy ecosystem services in urban areas.
